ENTRANCE EXAMS ZEFINITY

IIT MAINS AND ADVANCE

IIT stands for Indian Institutes of Technology, which are among the most prestigious engineering colleges in India. There are 23 IITs in India, and admission to these institutions is highly competitive and based on performance in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).

The JEE has two parts – JEE Main and JEE Advanced. JEE Main is the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced, and is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) twice a year. JEE Advanced is conducted once a year by one of the IITs.

Here are some details about JEE Main and JEE Advanced:

JEE Main

  • Exam Duration: 3 hours (4 hours for candidates with benchmark disabilities)
  • Subjects Covered: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
  • Exam Format: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Numerical Value-Based Questions
  • Total Marks: 300 marks (100 marks for each subject)
  • Marking Scheme:  For each correct answer, candidates are awarded 4 marks, and for each incorrect answer, 1 mark is deducted
There is no negative marking for unanswered questions.

JEE Advanced

  • Exam Duration: 6 hours (2 papers of 3 hours each)
  • Subjects Covered: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
  • Exam Format: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Numerical Value-Based Questions
  • Total Marks: 396 marks (Paper 1: 198 marks, Paper 2: 198 marks)
  • Marking Scheme: The marking scheme for JEE Advanced is different from JEE Main. The details of the marking scheme can vary from year to year, and are decided by the IIT that is conducting the exam.

The syllabus for both JEE Main and JEE Advanced is based on the Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India. However, the level of difficulty is higher for JEE Advanced as compared to JEE Main.

It is important to note that there are other factors that are taken into account for admission to IITs, such as performance in Class 12 board exams and eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced. It is recommended that candidates visit the official website of JEE for more details.

Here are some important details about NEET:

  • Exam Duration: The exam duration is 3 hours.
  • Total Marks: The maximum marks for NEET is 720.
  • Subjects Covered: NEET includes questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology).

Type of Questions:

The questions in NEET are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with four options for each question.

Each question carries 4 marks and there is a negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer.

Here’s a brief overview of the subject-wise distribution of questions in NEET:

  • Physics: 45 questions
  • Chemistry: 45 questions
  • Biology: 90 questions (Botany: 45 questions, Zoology: 45 questions)

NEET syllabus is based on the Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India.
